Created from scratch in 1972, Château Barthès has evolved in the expert hands of Philippe Barthès. He looks after 28 hectares of vines spread between Le Beausset, Le Castellet, La Cadière, and Sanary. From this beautiful patchwork of terroirs, the professional who was almost "born in wine" produces an eponymous cuvée in three colours.
The tasting area is set in the wine cellar, where the magic of the wine-making process takes place —a symbol of authenticity for this estate firmly anchored in the Bandol appellation. White wine lovers will appreciate the latest efforts of Château Barthès to make the most of its Rolle and Sauvignon grapes, in addition to the main grape variety, clairette.
As a vibrant tribute to his mother, Monique Barthès, who passed away in 2021, Philippe Barthès continues her work with the boldness he must have inherited from her. Monique Barthès was a model for Dior and Nina Ricci before she left Paris for Le Beausset and learned the wine-growing trade for love. Her feminine touch is visible on the tiara that now adorns the labels of the Château Barthès wines.
