This exceptional domain is home to a living history and a symbol of the Provencal wine. Located in Lançon-en-Provence, Château Calissanne is a large property where vines, olive trees, Mediterranean plants, and wildlife share an exceptional environment.
The second Saturday of September “Château Calissanne celebrates harvest”. You are invited to participate from within by harvesting grapes on a specific plot and live the transformation of grapes into wine in the heart of a dedicated workshop. And at noon, there will be “the Calissanne plates " for everyone! "Le Château Clissane fête les rosés" is on the Saturday following Ascension Day. On the program: animations, visits to wineries and "the Calissanne plates" for lunch.
The Calissanne quarries, worked from antiquity until World War II, supplied stones used in the construction of many of the region’s famous buildings: in Aix-en-Provence, the Saint-Sauveur Cathedral and most fountains, Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde in Marseille, as well as the Palais Longchamp, Palais du Pharo and the Flavien bridge in Saint-Chamas.
