Rosé wine also has its terroirs of excellence and La Tour de l’Evêque is one of them. This former ecclesiastical property located in Pierrefeu produces wines with strong character, like its owner, Régine Sumeire, creator of the famous "Pétal de Rose" wine that changed the world of rosé.
A particularly original fact is that the domain has the distinction of bearing two names: la Tour de l’Evêque and la Tour Sainte-Anne. The name of St. Anne would be that of a chapel on the estate, once a place of pilgrimage. The first is now the most used.
Upon his arrival at la Tour, the Fountain of Dolphins greets the visitor. Legend has it that a long time ago at the departure of her husband for the crusade, the lady of the castle poisoned the well from her tears, thereby depriving the occupants of a valuable resource. Centuries later, Gabriel Sumeire brought water back to the property, connecting by gravitation the famous fountain to the nearby source of Font-Freye. Thus he ended the curse!
