A domain composed of two terroirs, for two times the discovery and pleasure. The Bernard family doesn’t mess with tradition, the one of being a winemaker from father to son! Owners for several generations of the Château Matheron, an estate with a long winemaking tradition, they are working to develop aromatic wines in respect for the land that was bequeathed to them by Mother Nature.
The completely renovated tasting room is located along the N7, making it very easy to access.
A piece of sandstone that was once part of the bridge over the Via Aurelia was found on the Castle Matheron. It dates back to Roman times, exactly 31-32 AD. The other half of the engraved stone is at the Museum of Frejus. The "piece" weighs a whopping 900 kilos (1980 lbs.)!
