Activities | Tasting / Visit the field/the cellar |
Jean-Michel and Christophe Augier have decided a few years to fully live their winegrowers ambitions in their hometown of Saint Tropez. They have awoken the family vineyard and created their own cellar. It’s been a true success: drawing the quintessence of their six hectares of vines, they now produce wines with unique personality, assertive and engaging.
Domaine Sainte-Anne is a close neighbour of the eponymous chapel, a building that occupies an important place in the heart of St Tropez. Built in the early 17th century, it has long been frequented by sailors who came to the protection of their patron saint. Today it opens three times a year: in May for the procession of Bravades, the great communal festival, the day of St. Anne on July 26th, and on the feast day of the Assumption of Mary on August 15th. However, it deserves a visit even outside these three days, as the site is beautiful, quiet and picturesque.
A winery surrounded by vineyards in the middle of the beautiful villas of St Tropez, a few hundred metres from the beaches in fashion, that is unusual. Property of the Augier family for over a century, the Domaine Sainte-Anne is one of the last defenders of the winemaking tradition of Saint-Tropez, a village that before BB, Sagan and Barclay has long quenched the thirst of many Provencal people.
