La Pertuade, Provençale for “lost corner”, is worth being discovered. This beautiful (and brand new) vineyard is located between Cogolin and Bormes-les-Mimosas, downstream from the Verne dam. Surrounded by some thirty-year-old vines, the imposing building perfectly combines tradition and modernity. Candice Beuque, the hostess of this estate acquired by her family in 2012, has carefully achieved this fine dosage.
Its originality lies in the design itself of this great vault-winery complex. With its glass entrance, it is open to visitors at any time, it truly feels like getting to meet the winemaker, which is precisely Ms. Beuque’s goal. In the basement, a large cask storage cellar invites to wine tasting "in its own juice."
The two first cuvees’ names -Le Domaine and l’Embrun (mist)- was not chosen at random but to pay tribute to the village of La Mole called ‘a town between sea and hills’; it’s a way of affirming Domain The Pertuade’s anchor in this terroir to which it owes so much.
