It’s in a quiet corner of the eastern Var, between the Esterel and the Maures Massive, that for several years the famous Costamagna family celebrate the craziest of unions: that of Dionysus, the god of wine, and Euterpe, muse of music. The Domaine des Escaravatiers indeed stands out as much for its wines than for its trendy festival.
Don’t miss the Festival in the summer, as well as the Caveau’s musical evenings, once a month the rest of the year. Also, some local products are sold at the wine shop: candied peppers from Lorgues, honey and olive oil from Roquebrune, fruit nectars from Lecques, pasta with flowers from Grasse etc.
In addition to the bottles of Domaine des Escaravatiers, the wine shop offers Barolo, Barbera d'Alba and other Nelobiolo signed Roche Costamagna. However, the Costamagna family didn’t invest in a vineyard on the other side of the Alps. This is an Italian namesake that Sébastien wished to introduce to Provencal gourmets because he was delighted by his wines quality.
