Domain La Gayolle's origins date back to 1855, yet it has nonetheless managed to strike the right balance between tradition and modernity. It is the jewel in the crown of Nicolas Paul's family, the 7th generation to run the estate, ideally situated in the heart of Provence Verte and at the foot of the Massif de la Loube.
A place full of history, the domain of La Gayolle contains several treasures, starting with three immense four-century-old plane trees classified as "France's outstanding trees". They stand just in front of the cellar to shelter wine tastings. Last but not least, the Notre Dame de La Gayolle chapel, built in the 5th century and classified as France's Historic Monument, is a notable remain of the past of this extraordinary estate.
Paradoxically, this domain can claim 170 years of existence and yet boast one of the most technological cellars in the Coteaux Varois en Provence appellation. However, to give the best of themselves, the whites and reds rest in a barrel cellar dating from the 12th century.
