Some people say, “There are no vineyards in Saint Raphael.” If you believe them, then just take the road that crosses the Valescure golf course, in the heart of the Massif de l'Esterel, and drive up the hill a bit and you’ll arrive at the only —yes, the only —wine-growing estate of Saint Raphael. It’s an unusual story for a domaine that deserves to be better known, starting with its name: Terres Destel.
Its breathtaking location makes Saint Raph’s only vineyard quite simply... unique. Overlooking the Var plains, on the slopes of a volcanic rock massif, it is kissed by the Provençal sun and caressed by the Mediterranean wind, which gives its wines their typicity.
Terres Destel has opted, which is rather rare, for glass stoppers as one finds on perfume bottles. An idea as aesthetic as ingenious since it avoids micro-oxygenation, preserves aromas and retains the freshness of whites and rosés.
