The year 1924 marks the creation of Les Vignerons du Garlaban, the largest wine cooperative in the East of Marseille. As its slogan states, it is represented, “from the hills to the sea,” by four large cellars: Auriol, La Destrousse, Gémenos and La Ciotat. Despite its 95 years of existence, this cooperative has kept up with the times and its enthusiasts.
The caveau d’Auriol is adjoining the cellar and unmissable on the side of the department road. It is now also the starting point for three circuits in the heart of nature: that of the Sentiers Vignerons. This unifying concept combines walking and discovering the vineyard, conceived by the departmental hiking federation, in association with the federation of cooperative cellars 13.
Les Vignerons du Garlaban cooperative is renowned for its gigantic size, as shown by these figures: 150 winegrowers-cooperators combine the fruit of their work, carried out on 150 hectares of vines. And that's 250 000 bottles coming out of a 1500 m² cellar!
